Program overview
The Foundational Studies in Advaita Vedānta constitute the school’s primary and foundational program at Svādhyāya Muktiḥ – Advaita Vedānta Argentina. The program is designed as an integrated, progressive course of study, preserving the structure and sacred character of traditional learning in India, for those who seek a serious, sustained, and guided engagement with the Advaita Vedānta tradition.
This is not a short introductory course or a purely informational offering. It is a traditional, structured formation that integrates textual study, spiritual practice (sādhana), gradual Sanskrit training, and the lived assimilation of knowledge into everyday life.
The program spans two academic years, running from March to December each year, and requires no prior background. It is open to any sincere seeker, regardless of age, profession, or spiritual background.
What is Advaita Vedānta?
Advaita Vedānta is one of India’s six classical philosophical systems, the ṣaḍ-darśana: Nyāya, Vaiśeṣika, Sāṃkhya, Yoga, Mīmāṃsā, and Vedānta.
Within Vedānta, Advaita articulates the non-dual understanding of reality and its relationship to creation. Its classical formulation was systematized by Śrī Ādi Śaṅkarācārya, on the basis of an older lineage transmitted through the Praṣṭhānatrayī.
The foundations of Vedānta are the Praṣṭhānatrayī: the Upaniṣads, the Brahma Sūtra, and the Bhagavad Gītā.
From this core, the tradition develops its teaching through auxiliary and introductory texts known as prakaraṇa-granthas, which support a progressive, clear, and systematic understanding.

Sādhana (spiritual practice)
Spiritual practice is an essential pillar of the program. Sādhana is the art of living each moment consciously as an inner act of transformation, through which discipline clarifies the mind and orients the heart toward Truth.
As part of the program, students have access to personal practice guidelines and community practice sessions:
- Mantra, japa, and meditation
- Three weekly sessions available
- Two sessions required
- One additional session optional
In addition, each year includes a specific daily sādhana taught progressively as the group matures.
Throughout the year, the school offers in-person meetings, satsangs, and special programs as part of the lived path of Vedānta. These include traditional celebrations, thematic masterclasses, and retreats. Dates and locations are announced in advance.
